Only 19 kilometres outside of Innsbruck, winter sports aficionados will find their personal snowy oasis: Axamer Lizum. The ski resort at 2,340 altitude metres offers 40 slope kilometres, freeride pistes and tobogganing routes – a great and varied offer. There is a free ski bus that takes you directly from Innsbruck to ‘Weisses Dachl’ (= the white roof).
Aside from amazing fun on the slopes, the ski resort has culinary highlights to offer, too. The award-winning Hoadl Haus biggest has Austria’s roofed-over sun terrace. Tyrolean delicacies go extremely well with the panoramic view of Kalkkögel mountain.
Brandnew highlights: Golden Roofpark and Funslope
Off-piste free skiers and snowboarders can look forward to the newly-designed Golden Roofpark by the 4-person chair lift Karleiten. The motto here is: bigger, higher, farther! With a colourful mix of boxes, rails and kickers and a 13-metre table, the new freestyle playground offers loads of fun; both for beginners and advanced riders.
The new funslope takes you down the piste in waves, through slanted curves, giant spirals and over speedboosts where you can high-five noisy smiley faces. Axamer Lizum guarantees fun on the slopes for all generations!
