This square is truly colourful! The passage from Maria-Theresien-Strasse to the Sparkassenplatz-square presents itself in all colours: The 20m-long light installation called “47.16° Nord” is an eye-catcher, a popular motive for photos and a huge kaleidoscope for the visualisation of the current date.
The Sparkassenplatz itself welcomes pedestrians with a reduced architectural language that harbours a varied mixture of businesses. The choice of shops is great, whether it’s a stylish café bar, an iconic record store, a bookstore or hip fashion store, a traditional Loden shop or the Tyrolean savings bank – you name it – the distances in the pedestrian zone are short, a relaxed shopping trip is the ideal pastime.
All year round there are top events that make the square even livelier. Every Friday from 9 am to 2 pm the farmers’ market fills the gap between producer and consumer with seasonal and typical high-quality agricultural products from Tyrol, crafts and natural products. Oh, and of course there’s free WiFi on the square, too!
