Summer smells like coffee
*= coffee house music
An old Parisian café by the Seine, the gaze wanders across the peacefully murmuring water. Guests from near and afar find their spot on old Thonet chairs, heavy chandeliers hang from the ceiling and a grumpy Viennese waiter weaves through the full tables. Then a new image comes up…the breathtaking panorama of Zugspitze, surrounded by wood and under a blue ski, sun worshippers enjoy the moment.
It feels good to let one’s thoughts wander and to send them on a small pleasure cruise every once in a while – be it imaginary or real. All settings are connected by one similarity: coffee in all its forms is an integral part. Because here the beverage is more than just an accessory, it’s an attitude towards life. As of this summer the black gold is being celebrated at an event within the framework of Musik im Park in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and it’s an event definitely worth attending – live and in colour.
According to an old Arab proverb “For coffee to be good it must be: black like the night, hot as love and sweet as life”. No matter if it’s Istanbul, Paris, Vienna, or Garmisch-Partenkirchen – the passion for the invigorating beverage connects people from all over the world. And the team of Musik im Park and the Erhardt family of the new hotel Werdenfelserei are well-aware of that and so they’ve decided to organise the first Kaffeehausmusik (= coffee house music) event together.
Sip by sip into the weekend
Between July 27 and September 14, 2018 guests will be able to enjoy lounge music by Metropolterzett and Bavarian folk music by Trio Saller on the beautiful rooftop terrace of the newly renovated boutique hotel Werdenfelserei. On eight consecutive Fridays between 3 pm and 5 pm – this does not just guarantee the perfect start into the weekend but also inspiring talks in a relaxed atmosphere. One more thing is for sure: from up here lovers of coffee and music have one of the most beautiful views of lush forests and jagged rocks.
At the foot of Zugspitze coffee house culture will be celebrated in a special way this summer. Tradition meets modern elements, locals meet guests, and latte-lovers meet espresso-enthusiasts. “Greetings, Garmisch-Partenkirchen; I’ll have a cappuccino, please!”
