The edelweiss – a particularly symbolic flower in the alpine region. It was seen as a proof of love when men handed their beloveds the plant that usually only grows on steep rocks. Today one does not have to climb dangerous slopes to get a look at the rare species: Simply go to St. Anton, up to Sennhütte. Here you’ll find numerous edelweiss flowers waiting to be admired.
Hard to believe! More than 20,000 wonderful flowers form the Alps’ biggest edelweiss flower. From July the rare plant grows in this power spot right by Sennhütte high above St. Anton – in the shape of a large edelweiss flower. At the centre of the flower comfy wooden deckchairs invite you to relax. The Edelweiss-Stadl which is close by provides information on the rare plant’s healing powers – and at Sennhütte the beverage ‘Maitrunk’ after Hildegard von Bingen’s recipes will awaken your spirits.
