The heart on a house beat

DJ Tiësto spins in Zürs

He steps on stage – hands and cell phones shoot up in the air, deafening cheering and shouting from the crowd and then there’s the bass. No matter where in the world he happens to spin, the scenario is always the same. DJ Tiësto has made it to a place others can only dream of: the very top. Born in the Netherlands and actually called Tijs Verwest he now plays on the biggest stages in front of thousands of people…and in April he’ll be in picturesque Zürs.

As of 2011 House and Trance DJ Tiësto can proudly (and officially) call himself “The Greatest DJ Of All Time”. And the world’s biggest DJ magazine MixMag is not his only fan, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands is, too: because of his merits in the Dutch dance scene the Queen honoured him with the renowned Order of Orange-Nassau. And other stars have been queuing to work with him since his breakthrough in 2004: Busta Rhymes, Nelly Furtado, John Legend and Gigi d’Agostino already conquered the charts with him.

A lottery win

Nowadays the likeable Dutch DJ fills stadiums all around the world and does up to 100 shows per year. Hard to believe that on April 5, 2018 he’ll actually make a stop on the Arlberg for an exclusive gig on Zürs’ Edelweiss-square. “Being able to get a DJ superstar like Tiësto to play an exclusive concert here in Lech Zürs is like winning the lottery. In light of the fact that he usually plays in urban metropoles like Las Vegas, Beijing, Vancouver, Malmö, Chicago, or Mexico City his visit is a special honour. Consequently, the concert will be mostly for our guests and all locals and staff”, an overjoyed Lech Zürs Tourism Director Hermann Fercher tells us. Lovers of electronic music will be able to enjoy this unique spectacle in a comparatively small concert for 5,000 people. And the best thing about it: as part of a stay in Lech Zürs the event is free of charge.
